Okay, so, earlier today, I posted a quiz question on Facebook and it has still yet to be answered correctly, so, I thought I'd add the riddle here. The question is: Who was the first (biblical) theologian to die in a plane crash? Some of the wrong answers were: Jesus, God, Pontius Pilot/Pilate and Buddy Holly. Those were quite funny in the context of the discussion but come on people, doesn't anyone out there know this? Take a shot at it and post your answer in the comments section of this post.
Carl Michalson, a prominent theologian, was Andrew V. Stout Professor of Systematic Theology at Drew University, where he taught from 1943 to 1965. He was a prolific author, editor, and translator. His tragic death in an airplane crash in 1965 was mourned throughout the international community of theologians and intellectuals.

ReplyDeleteHa, I was just looking at my "statistics" page and realized that today, someone Googled "Who was the first major theologian to die in a 'plain' crash" (emphasis mine) in hopes of finding the answer. Unfortunately, it just landed them back at Pisteuomen. Whoever that was, good try...but kinda funny.

ReplyDeleteI just did a little searching on the web. A google is a terrible thing to waste. But all the lists of plane crashes I had to go through made me want to walk next time I travel.
